I'm really interested in getting a Maz 18 Jr NR (and many other Z amps) but I don't know what I should do... Get a Maz 18 Jr NR 210 combo, or go for the head and 210 cab? What are the differences in sound for these two options?

No real difference in sound between the two. It basically comes down to portability.

I like the head and cabinet myself. I have a Ghia and 2x12 cab, with a 2x10 cab on the way. I will soon find a Maz Jr. This way it is very easy to mix and match.

I agree with Hollywood5150. If you get them seperate you can use the cab with other heads. I got a Mazerati combo and wish that I had gotten the head/cab. It is a bit heavy as a combo, and loading it around makes me nervous sometimes. If I bump a speaker cab around I'm not too worried, but my amp is inside that same box in the combo. Also, with my amp the el84's rattle a bit from the intense vibrations that occur that close to the speaker. Some people, in recording studios can isolate the cab in one room while the head is at their fingertips. We all love these amps, you will too.

If I planned on getting an arsenal of amps, I'd go head and cab, all the way, but one amp suits me just fine, so it's a combo for me.
