for those who have tried them. Can you tell me what your ears hear different between the old Maz V2 and the Stangray?

The mazerati v2 is a more neutral kind of amp with a lot more clean head room. The stangray is very chimey, but will give up the goods quicker. A tele through a mazerati will do several things. A tele through a stangray is Brad Paisley all over the place. Nothing wrong with that. I love Brad's tone. If you want some more versatility go with a mazerati.

Thanks. I picked up the Maz and played one gig with it so far. Impressions TBD!

Sure you've already discovered the Rati's tone... But another opinion vs the Ray. The Rati has a stronger midrange (but not over mid-ie) and less top end and low end available... Or as mentioned above, a little flatter (but in a good way). The Rati is also more pedal friendly, maybe the most pedal friendly amp I've ever played?
The Ray is more 3D or hifi sounding, for lack of better words. They can each cross into each other tonal territory, but each have a sound all their all too.
