I have a trace elliot velocette amp 15w class A british tube amp, it has a celestion g10 60w speaker and it has a cut in the cone. For some reason when I turn the amp up its not very loud at all, would this be because of the rip in the cone? Also what speaker would work if I change it out? the amp is 15w and its the exact same thing as a Gibson GA15 amp. gibson bought them out. the external speaker says 16 ohm what would be a good cabinet for this amp. thanks Zach, modernscape@yahoo.com

I've that those amps have a lot of problems so it might be something besides the speaker. Just hook another one up to rule it in or out. If it's the wrong impedance just try it for a second to confirm and then shut it right down. How about just reconing your 10" and hooking up a bigger 16 ohm cab for more volume? Don't run the internal speaker at the same time.
