Anyone tried out the Z 1x12 closed back, rear ported cabinet?
I'm deciding between a new red one to match my Maz Sr. or an old Boogie ported Theil cab. Those old Boogie 1x12s had great low end and were built like tanks.

I haven't tried the Z 1x12, only the Z-BESt 2X12, which I like alot. I do agree about the Boogie 1X12 Theile ported cabinets. I had a pair of those when I was doing the rackmount thing. They were very impressive

They were very impressive I used to have a Z-Best cab and have to say that pound for pound, it has to be the best 2x12 cab I've ever used. I've got a Maz combo now, so I'm just looking for a 1x12 that Z makes that might match the width of my Maz.

Bogner makes a 1X12 EXT cab that's sealed and ported with a 80 watt celestion. I own one, it's a really nice sounding cab. I use it with my Shiva EL-34 1X12 combo. Bluzsteel: Are you talking about the Z 1X12 sealed cab? That's too bad if he doesn't make that anymore.

If you're looking for a 1X12 closed back (AND if Z doesn't make them anymore) check out the EarCandy cabs. They make a closed back 1X12 with ports in the front. You can pick different woods for the cab and get any color combo you want.

Z doesnt make that anymore I thought Z just changed the dimensions on his 1x12's to be identical to the 2x10 dimensions so that the his larger size heads like the Maz would fit on them? I'm pretty sure Z never offered a fully closed 1x12 cab, but rather a rear, slot-ported design. I had one of the old 1x12 rear slot-ported cabs with the original Z 1x12 cab dimensions (now owned by tele62), and it was a fantastic cab. Haven't tried the newer Z 1x12's, but I'm sure they're great too... but do they not come in the rear-ported configuration any more? EarCandy Cabs: Tim makes great cabs... I have two of his 2x12 cabs (a "Boa" open back and a "BuzzBomb" front-ported) and they're both top notch. I actually use my BuzzBomb 2x12 cab as a 1x12 detuned cab (only the top hole has a speaker when you stand the cab vertically)... it is absolutely the most best sounding 1x12 cab I've ever heard, so if you don't mind the extra size and small amount of extra weight, that might be a great option too. I haven't heard his 1x12 cabs, but I've heard they're really good as well.
