I'm looking at these for nice club band use ''front end''. Anyone try the new Mackies ? I know the K12s are Killer. The 10lbs lighter on the Mackie DLM 12s is very attractive to my bad back

I've found the QSC's to be a notch or 2 above the Mackies generally.

I just bought one and played it @ practice last night WOW. It has a JBL EQ , a QSC EQ, regular EQ and effects. I played it with a mic plugged in and it sounded OK till' I took it off the line setting and put it on the mic setting WOW...after running and hiding for cover...The little guy is Bruce Lee in a box. The weight issue is important to me...so I'm gonna get another and use it for everything, Band ,duo and one for a single.

Those new Mackies are very intriguing. With the DSP processing they should sound much bigger than they are. I know Mackie has gotten a bad rap lately so I want to see some more reviews and hopefully a comparison or two against the QSC. But 15" x 15" x 14" deep, with 2,000 watts, and only 31 lbs., seems very attractive. BTW: Carvin has a 12 passive monitor/main with a concentric tweeter that I've always been curious about. They are much less money because they are passive but not as small as the Mackies because they are a made like a floor wedge. Carvin also has a new rig like a Bose L1 on steroids. Two small columns with nine 3" speakers and one 18" sub plus a power amp for $2,299.

I've heard the Mackie and the QSC speakers and the QSC has better definition at high SPL's. If you get a chance listen to a Yamaha DXR12. I like it even better than the QSC.
