I asked Weber about a low-efficiency, Greenback voiced speaker to use with the Remedy and they recommended the DT-12, which has 20 oz magnets.
Has anyone tried these with a Remedy?

Never mind. I bought a couple of Creambacks. I like to buy from Weber, but the G12M-65 appears to be a Known Good Thing.

I wonder what is the efficiency rating of the DT12s?
After hearing TRock's killer demo with the WGS ET65, I tried it out with the Remedy and so far I'm digging it. It is 98db.

I emailed CJ at Weber and he said the DT12s were approx 93 to 94 dbs.

Now that would be low enough to make a HUGE difference in volume. Going from the Golds to those would be similar to going from 40 watts to around 10 watts. YIKES! With the half power switch, you could drop that in half! That might be worth a peek for bedroom gigs...
Gee, sticking one of those on my Maz Jr in place of the Gold would be like dropping it from 18 watts to about 4.5 watts, more or less...
Gee, I'm thinking one of these with a single click on the Airbrake would be pretty nice in the studio too.

From Weber: "The DT12 has a very balanced tone. But if you compared it to an American voiced speaker and a British voiced speaker, it would sound much closer to the British side."

Anybody heard them?
I'm thinking about setting up another 2x12 cab with these, or maybe replacing a couple of the speakers in my Super Reverb with DT-10s to tame the volume.

I can't tell much from the demo, but I can tell that they sound creamy and warm.

Small 20 oz magnets. But there's nothing on the weber site that says anything about greenback tone.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but no need to start a new one. I'd love to try these, but just curious how much of a volume difference there really is. I know they're low sensitivity, but would love to know how much of a difference in perceived volume they really make.

I've seen this speaker, but kinda forgot it was out there. I'd like to know what the actual sensitivity spec is. I didn't see it on their site.

I had emailed CJ at Weber when they first came out and he said they were 94 db. They don't typically post the sensitivity specs but CJ or TA Weber will usually respond to those type of questions by email.
