The Maz 8 I bought from Guitar Resurrection will be here tomorrow or Thursday. It is the standard size combo - not the new studio size - with one G12-H30. So my question is this: Has anyone tried replacing the stock speaker with a Blue or a Gold? If so, what did you think? Also, has anyone had a chance to compare two Maz 8s - one with a Blue and one with a Gold?
Thanks,

Z favored the Blue which was the standard speaker when the Maz 8 was originally released. I have the Blue and love it but I've also ran it thru various cabs, speakers and it still shines. Season to taste and enjoy this little gem. ;D

Sounds great with the Blue. Have not tried plugging into other cabs.

The one I had sounded tremendous with the blue. I did plug into my 2x12 loaded with G1265's and it changed it voice alot, much more of a rock and roll feel.

Thanks guys. It's still early - the amp hasn't been burned in yet and the speakers aren't broken in yet - but I just can't help but feeling the amp is capable of more than than that G12H30 is delivering. Sounds like I need a Blue.
Thanks for the comments.

The G12H30 will be louder than the Blue. I've got the Blue in mine which I like. I also have a 2 x12" open backed Z cab with a Blue and a G12H30 which gives me lots of options in the studio. I like both sounds. Take the time to let the speaker break in before dropping the coin.

I've done it with a blue and a gold and a pair of Z10s.
They all sound great but I liked the Blue...
