So Death Cab have a new album coming out on March 31st entitled "Kintsugi". Here's a performance of one of their singles called "Black Sun". Their new guitar player who replaced Chris Walla appears to be playing a Maz. Not sure if it's an 18 or 38, but he has some pretty gnarly fuzz coming out of it during the solo. Gibbard usually plays either a Maz 38 or 18, sometimes both, but it doesn't look like he's playing one for this performance. Anyway, their new tunes sound great!

Ah, yes. Looks like Ben's back to his ACME Silvertone. I miss Walla already.

Ah, yes. Looks like Ben's back to his ACME Silvertone. I miss Walla already. Ya, Walla should have stayed with the band. I mean he produced and player on a lot of the new album and will most likely be part of the production on future albums as well. He's basically still in the band just not touring.

Been catching them live for over 12 years now. I just think Walla added an element live as well. It's all good. I'll still go see 'em when they pass through Philly. And pass judgement THEN.

I saw them earlier this week in London. While Ben is sporting that Acme Silvertone (admittedly, not a bad amp!), there were some nice tones coming from the right side of the stage... Go see them if they play anywhere near you. Well worth it.

In a recent Premier Guitar Rig Rundown, although Ben's back to his Acme head, he still rocks the Z 2x10 cab, although debadged.

Here's the link for the Rig Rundown: Definitely still using the Dr Z 2x10!

Saw them last night here in St. Louis. My first time seeing them and it was a great show.
Ben was playing through a dual Supro rig of some sort and the new guitarist, Dave Depper I think, was sporting a few Cano guitars through a maz38 1x12.
I gotta say, the Maz was amazing. It just cut through the mix like crazy; so much so that the front of house did not have him in the house for the first 30 seconds or so and the Maz just sliced right through.
Great live show.
