so here's the story.....
i play at at a large church w/ over 10,000 members...we play mostly Hillsong United stuff...very guitar driven w/ lots of effects and whatnot (for those not familiar)....i was using a super nice Jackson Ampworks Britain head/1x12cab setup...the amp sounded incredible...my delima was it was TOO LOUD...it could be put in 12, 25, or 50 watt mode...even in 12, the volume sweep went from nothing to loud very fast....i couldn't practice at home w/ it and i was never able to crank it loud enough to get the sweet spot at church...so i figured i should sell it (since it was so expensive) and get something cheaper that would work better...i had a Maz 38 that i had regretted selling...i liked the Britain better but the Maz will still a great amp...while searching for one, i ran across the Galaxie..i had never even heard of one....did some research and loved what i read right away...im a huge fan of the fender tweed clean...i found some clips and really liked them....the Galaxie i found was mint and only 850 shipped..compared to what im used to spending on amps, that was dirt cheap...i took the chance and bought it....got it monday and played in my apartment..since i play w/ pedals, i didnt need dirt from the amp..it worked out great in my apartment (unlike my old britain)...i finally got to play it live last night and WOW..i was blown away...i played for a solid 2 1/2 hours and loved my tone from the first note...i went from thinking i was gonna downgrade just to save some money to actually getting an amp that is gonna up sounding better for what i need..so in the end, i was able to get the galaxie, order a roadcase, and still pocket $1100 after getting rid of my other amp...WIN!
