Try this:
Set V and Master to about 1 o'clock and cut to noon; these are starting positions and can be tweaked to suit. Set the amp to triode and engage the EQ bypass. Turn your guitar volume down a bit to start. Try both hi and lo inputs.
Waddya think?

I tried it - great!
Had to back off the Volume a bit for my 335 (noon?), but with the Tele it was nice. You can clean up somewhat with the guitar volume, or turn it up and crunch away!

Glad you liked it. It has a bit rounder sound than pentode, very "organic" tone and feel, imo.

As a Maz 18 and M12 owner, I would really love to try this amp!

The MAZ 8 has really grown on me. My Studio Combo's got the Cel Blue, and I find that's part of the amp's charm.
Has expected similarities to MAZ 18, but is different with the single EL84, especially triode mode.

I find the 8 to be generally similar to the 18, but really it is different. For reference Ihad the G12H30 in the 18 and the Blue in the 8 so maybe that's some of the variance.
Especially when you use the Pentode, then it differs even more.

Mine just arrived 30 minutes ago, I remembered that I bookmarked this thread. What a great starting point, I highly recommend it to new owners.

Thx doctorice for sharing that information, just checked it out and there is some magic going on with my Strat for sure Very organic feeling, still very loud, guess I will have to go for an power attenuator for the Maz 8 at home usage. Lol, 8 Watts only....
