Here's the dealio.....I keep blowing the 3A fuse on my Mazerati head but it doesn't happen all the time, sometimes it will last for a few gigs, sometimes it will blow 4 in a night. I thought it was from not plugging into our power conditioner, but even then, it will blow here or there. I'm assuming its a tube problem, but what tubes would effect the 3A fuse?? I hate to shell out a $100 or more on another rectifier.... I already have a KCA NOS tube that I put in right away 5 years ago...

First off...When a fuse blows...its the amps way of telling you that something is wrong. It's not the fuse that's defective. If you have to keep replacing fuses then that's a sure sign that "something else" is wrong inside the amp. If you just replace the fuse, you haven't actually fixed anything and it's sure to happen again. A faulty rectifier tube is one of the most common causes of a blown fuse, but....It could be virtually anything in the amp. Get/beg/borrow/steal a tube tester and start with that...if it's not a faulty tube send it back to Z for a checkup. If you've got a friendly tech who won't charge much then fine...but if you've got to pay someone full price to fix it....there's nobody better than the guys that built it. Unless you really know what you are doing...don't mess around inside of a tube amp....it might just be the last mistake you ever make...yes, it CAN kill you. I hate to not give much help...but without some gut shots etc...it's really hard to diagnose a problem without more information. Good luck Jacques
