I can't believe I'm asking this. I'm the kind of guy who can ask a question like this on Monday and have another amp in the house by Wednesday.
Anyway, I'm down to my Carmen Ghia as my only Z amp, and I love everything about it. But I keep reading about the M12 and I'm wondering if it might be a better fit for me or not, so here's a couple of questions if anyone has an opinion:
1. Which one gets louder overall?
2. which one is capable of the most clean headroom? (Figure on the Ghia running the old 12BH7 trick.)
3. Is there any tone comparison?
(Assume both amps are run through a 1x10 Red Fang.)
My pedal chain consists of a Flying Dragon and a cable. Often not even the FD.
Thanks for your thoughts guys.

i dont own a CG, but i have spent a fair amount of time noodling with one at Fat Sound so take this with a grain of salt: 1. CG is definitely louder 2. the M12 is designed to be a clean pedal platform offering lots of clean headroom. definitely has more headroom than the 4 maz jr's i have owned and is simply amazing at hosting pedals AND at offering lots of great crunch/grind when hit with a Flying Dragon or Draconis. I use the Draconis and can really get the amp to bark. 3. The M12 probably most compares to a Wreck in my opinion.
If you are looking for low volume, great tone, high headroom and natural tube gain (with a little help from your FD) then you owe it to yourself to give the M12 a shot.
I love mine so much i am in the process of selling other amps that i just dont need/want anymore.
hope this helps.

The M12 has really worked out well for me. Only once has it not had enough ooomph on its own, and I had to kick on a boost. The more I play it the more I find I like it. I gigged outside again Saturday night with it and we got very loud and the M12 (V on 10:00) hung just fine with the full band. I ran a full pedal board that night. Occasionally, I'll use only a cable and push it barely into OD. That's where I like to play it when I'm alone.... Just a great amp. I do like it better than the CG Fasteddie.... You need to try one and see what you think....
