Freely might be a strong word, but it's definitely not in there securely. It twists about very easily. I don't know what the technical term is; I'd call it a grommet, I suppose. I'm pretty easy on my gear, so I'm not too worried about it getting twisted up inside, but I'd still like to get it secure. Better yet, is there any way to retrofit the detachable cable plug?

You might need a new grommet. Contact Brent @ DRZ Amps to point you in the right direction. Or take it to a tech. Or maybe someone will share a link to where you might purchase one. Mouser.com comes to mind.

Mine worked it's way loose too. I globbed a bit of hot glue on the _inside_ of the chassis around the grommet. Been fine ever since.
Best, Eddie
