Alright guys, new amp on the horizon and I'm trying to research as much as possible as there's very little chance of a "try before I buy" due to where I live.
Ok, I'm a home and small - medium sized club player.
I play all the classic rock, blues based rock and blues stuff.
A typical set will include some Clapton, some SRV, some Hendrix, some Aerosmith, a little Gary Moore, maybe a bit of Zepplin, some Bonamassa, Allman Brothers, Free, John Mayer, the three kings etc...
Therefore, the amp needs to be versatile. It will be my only amp for the foreseeable future, however I will run a multi-amp set up when funds become available so if it happens to do one thing better than another, so be it.
Tone wise I'm looking for a Gary Moore - Parisian Walkways as a lead tone, Brad Whitford - Same Old Song And Dance as a crunch rhythm, needs to clean up nicely to a Hendrix – Little Wing level.
28-50W Good master volume, or Power Scaling (preferable)
So what I'm looking at is the Route 66 or the Maz 38. Any other suggestions or ideas guys?

I'd throw the Remedy into the mix too.

To cover that many bases with a MV (no Z's have scaling)...I think SRZ65. It's a higher wattage than your range, but I hear the MV is pretty effective. The Dave Baker demo and the two YouTube snippets from VintageGitar give a good indication of the range. The Remedy does not have a MV and in order to sing, will need to be loud Keith

I dont mind installing power scaling as an after mod, so the remedy and route 66 are still options

The SRZ seems to have a little too much gain on tap for what I require. I'd like to set the amp at my clean tone, just at the edge of breakup, roll back the volume. Then switch to the neck pickup, volume up and solo the daylights out of it, or use an OD/Boost. The SRZ seems perfect for the higher gain stuff, but from the demos that's all it appears to do well

A Remedy over a Rt 66? Interesting.
I can't wait to hear more on the Antidote, as it really does look interesting
