Hey all, I went to Main Street Music in Pittsburgh today and tried an M12 for the first time. I was totally blown away how loud it is!! I can't wait to try it out this Friday at my gig!! I have a Stang Ray too, and although i'm attached to the Ray, I think I have enough love for the M12 too!!
Peace, Jason

Let us know how it works for you at the gig!
I am playing my M12 mostly through a 1x12 Gold. I wouldn't have described it as "Loud" though. I usually play in a 4-piece (drum/bass/acoustic guitar/me).
My MAZ 18 was just a little too much indoors when in its sweet spot. I had to air brake it or keep the master lower than I wanted to be balanced.
I found the M12 fits in that group perfectly. I have it turned up pretty high with no brake and it seems to sit just right in the stage level mix.
I would think it would sound tamer than your Stang Ray at equal settings?

Jericho, When i said the M12 was "Loud", I meant that for 12 watts it was louder than i thought it would be. It is tamer than the Ray, but it has more bite than the Ray. I plugged in a BB Plus, Boss DD-6 Delay, and a TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb and the heavens opened up and the tone was INSANE!!! I love this amp already!! I almost bought a Ghia, but the M12 was more my tone I was looking for.

Aha, I gotchya. I was so loving the tone when I just plugged straight in.
I threw a Skreddy Screwdriver and a DD7 on it last night and I lost about 3 hours of my life.
My wife poked her head in..."I guess you like that new amp?"
Hmm...YES.
Its a perfect "working man's amp" for me. Hits its sweet spot at a perfect volume level for most small gigs these days and it is the best platform for my pedal boards I have come across (well its a close race with the KT)
Thanks Doc
;D

Funny that I was on my way to the Pgh airport and wanted to stop by Swissvale Music, and now realize it has changed name to Main St Music and moved closer to my house!
I really did want to try out the M12 (and a Maz8 too), hope they have both when I get back.

tjnies, They don't have anymore M12's there, but i'm sure they will order another one. They have a Carmen Ghia head, Z Wreck and an EZG-50 head in stock. I loved the sound of the Ghia. It was like a ZZ Top sound. The M12 rocks!!

Congrats on the M12 purchase. You're gonna love it. I am taking mine out to a small outdoors venue Friday night where the M12 is perfect. My Remedy is a bit too much there, but being outside, I can crank the M12 into her sweet spot without punishing the crowd.....Can't wait!!!!

That's cool. I've been in Pittsburgh all week. I might have to go check out Main St. Music before I head out.

Yeah most people don't know about Irwin PA, that's why I said Pittsburgh. It's about an hour or more from my house. I'm from Washington, PA.
