Is it me or is it just the way an overdrive/distortion/fuzz/booster pedal smacks those 6L6's into a new level that just makes you appreciate them even more?
I am still geeking out over my Galaxie! The bass and treble interaction is insane. I don't get how other guitar players do not think they sound "country" enough? What were the early country guitar players plugging into back in the good ole days? It sure as hell was not vox or marshall!
Yes, the el84 has a shimmer and sparkle but that does not make it the only "country amp". If Brad Paisley had a hard-on for those big glass tube amps, y'all would be torquing for them too.
Don't follow other players. Go with what works best for your type of phrasing and movement of chords. This amp has already changed my technique for the better.

This amp will twang with the best of them, Not as spanky clean as say a TWINN but its half the POWER, I LOVE my GALAXIE it has made my SUPER REVERB sit and collect dust , Wish it had Tube driven reverb But its just fina as it is
