Do any of you guys use the Jaz for country? If so do you mind posting your settings?

I play a 50's/60's show and it is important that the guitar sounds are authentic to that era. That means primarily clean and slightly overdriven Fender amps. My JAZ is great for that and when running at 40 watts has enough headroom to work with most drummers. I use a Tele 90% of the time and either a Strat or Gibson Johnny A the rest. The tone control (and this is important) is set around 60%. I work the volume on the guitar for leads and rhythm parts and don't use clean boost pedals for that.
I also use the same rig and settings when I play classic country. The amp settings are: Vol 10:30 to 1:30 Treb 9:00 Mid 10:30 Bass Just enough to where you start to hear it. Usually around 8:00. Mast Full. I sometimes pull this back a little bit but it is important for this to be up if you want to play clean. Rev Around 8:30 depending on the room. I A/B'd my JAZ and those settings with a Fender SF Vibrolux Reverb and they sounded almost identical.
I have a head and play through a 2X10 cabinet. I have used 2 cabinets a couple of times but usually that isn't necessary.
Normally my only effects are an analog delay and a Tim OD pedal. This is a great pedal for a mild overdrive if you don't want to change your tone. If I need a more modern country sound I will add a Wampler Paisley Drive and maybe a Line 6 M9 for the mod effects. I don't care for compressors. When my JAZ is pushed to the edge it has a great natural compression on it's own.

Was using my JAZ w/12 in a primarily traditional country band. It's a Deluxe-reverb on steroids. Now if I could only get someone to cart it everywhere for me. Oh my aching back!

I converted my 2x10 combo to a head and a separate cabinet. Sometimes I use two 2x10 cabinets. It's much more manageable that way. You're right. I would describe my sound as a Vibrolux Reverb but with a little something extra.
