Just setting up this thread to let all you Z fans know my take on the new Galaxie. I went to Ray's guitars in Allen Park Michigan yesterday, and played several Z's. From my research I had it narrowed down in my mind to a Maz or a Galaxie. I play jazz, country, classic rock, and some hard rock. I plugged into the 2x10 Galaxie first, the one that I ended up with incidently. From chord one I was sold. Ive owned Bad Cat's, Carr's, Boogie's, Fender's, Marshall's, and was quite a fan of Reverb being a Jazzer. Everything you hear about Z's not needing reverb is not a fable at all. These things are amazing. Lush, clear, bell like, and articulate. I play a nash 57 relic strat with Lollar Pickups. After the Galaxy I plugged in a Divided by Thirteen JRT model, a Maz 38 Reverb Model Through a Z 2x12 and then proceeded to play a Prescription ES, a Ghia, A Galaxie 1x12, and then a Galaxie plugged through a 2x12. The 2x10 gets my vote. Everything else was thin after the Galaxie. Made my old Carr Slant 6V sound like a Gorilla Amp. Not really but blew it away. This thing covers it all, with power to boot. As a matter of fact you might want an Airbrake for this FIRE BREATHING MONSTER. Need more time to play with it though for more of an exact tonal impression. I will post soon. R

Very cool. That shop sounds killer.
I also own a Gal'. I have a head which I team up with my MazSr through a Marshall 2x12. Pretty nice rig!!!! I actually bought my Gal (serial no. 3) and sold it after about a month. Fortunately, I was able to buy it back about 2 weeks ago. I love it. I should never have gotten rid of it. We make these types of mistakes every once in awhile I guess. It's never going anywhere again - I can assure you of that!!!
Continued good luck and keep us posted on the tone review!!!
Welcome, Bill (bilbal)
