Hi
I've done a several tubeamps, but never used EF86 tubes. I've noticed that Z amps have the EF86 internal shield connected to cathode... although many datasheet states that shield should go to ground? Why is this... less noise?
Thanks

Not sure, but I think he uses the EF86 a little differently than most. At one point he had the ef86 designed to his specs.

There is nothing "special" about wiring the EF86 internal shield to cathode... it's almost same as the ground potential... just thinking if the cap makes any difference? I guess not..

To prevent oscillation the suppressor grid is connected to the cathode or can go to ground.
