Hello all, I have a mazerati head (V2) and a z best cab. All of a sudden i am getting a horrible hiss through my amp. It is still there even when my guitar is unplugged. When it is plugged in I still get my guitar running through, but it seems to be quieter. I have a line conditioner and have checked my speaker cable. Does this sound like a tube thing? I had extra v1 and v2 tubes and tried switching them, But that didn't work. It could be the el84's...I just need to buy some to try switching them. Any help would be appreciated, I have an important gig in two weeks and would like to fix it Before then. I'm hoping it is something simple! Thank you!

Most likely power tubes. Just had a similar problem yesterday. Put in new tubes and wow. I should of done that a month ago.

Pull the PI to see if it goes away. If it does, it's in the preamp. If it doesn't it's in the power amp.
Also check to see if it's affected by your volume and tone controls when your guitar is not plugged in there.

I'd bet a doughnut it's a power tube.

The hiss is not affected by my amp volume or tone knob sweep. I will swing by and grab some power tubes after work. Hopefully that's all it is! I just put new ones in maybe three months ago so i wasn't expecting it, I guess... I appreciate the responses! Ill keep you posted. Thanks!
