So we're trying to get a live webcast of the open mic we do on Tuesday nights and I was trying out my nifty Samsung digital camcorder since it has a webcam option. My MacBook Pro didn't see it as anything other than a microphone. YIKES!!! tomorrow I plan to use my Mbox for miking b/c the MB Pro internal mic was horrendous in recreating what the amp yielded and the limited bandwidth of Ustream made for some compressed, distorted cacophony on the audible end of things. The visual from isight wasn't horrible but I intend to try the cache of digital cameras I have at my disposal to see which of the lot plays nicely with my laptop for the best visual representation of what is happening audibly at the open mics. I have until the second week of July to get it together b/c at that point I'm supposed to be hosting said event and want to have it broadcast for the five folks I know who live far away to hear and see it. Anyone have any remedies for what's ailing me visually with the camera's interfacing with the laptop? I'd love to hear your options and hope they aren't' co$tly solutions......

Try opening up iMovie and see if that recognizes your camera. If that doesn't work see if you need to download some drivers?
