I'm about to purchase a greenback or clone. I've been looking at the clones such as the ones from WGS (the invader) and Eminence (Legend gb128 and private jack). I think either of these will be as good or better than the celestion. I've read really good things about the legend gb128 especially for the price. Anyone willing to share their experiences with these or any other greenback style speakers? Thanks!

I want to give the green beret another try. I'm thinking I may have received a dud the first go around. It didn't sound like a greenback at all. It seemed to have really scooped mids compared to the greenback.

Ouch....$219 for a ceramic greenback clone?
Over 3 times the price of the WGS.

Wgs invader. First GB anything I've tried. Compressed compared to what I'm used to. Getting used to it and breaking it in. But really nice highs and breaks up really nice. Good low end as well. Very balanced and pleasant. Not harsh. So far so good I guess.

You can't beat Celestion.

^^^^ the WGS gives Celestion at least a run for the money I would think. Better priced and really nice stuff.

The speaker is the third most important part of your system. Most of us on this board wouldn't think twice about spending several hundred dollars on a boost pedal that we might step on once or twice a night. The speaker is working 100% of the time. Why wouldn't you give the same consideration to what you invest in the driver?
The ASW speakers are worth every penny. These guys have invested years in research and experimenting with cone composition to come up with a product that is second to none. The terms break in and cone cry are not factors here because the speakers are built properly out of the best materials.
Don't believe me? Try them... I dare you.

I was about to sell before I really tried it out, didn't want to do that. It's sounding great, a little brighter than I'm used to, but great none the less!
