Hi All, the praise band I play in at church is looking to set amps back up off stage again (we seem to go round and around on this one). This time its not because of the volume but because they want to have more of the "sound" coming from the mains. The other guitar player in the band (Adam, he is on the forum) is looking to go to in ear monitors as well so that is playing a role in all of this too. I like hearing my amp in front of me though so I think that I am going to run an exention cab off stage (I did this before with my Maz Jr) and then dual mic that cab, one mic for monitor board and then a second mic for the mains. Doing this I can keep my instrument cables shorter, have my dials and knobs right in front of me and still be able to hear that pretty blue speaker I have in my Studio 12 cab. Although now that I am thinking this thru maybe I'll just dual mic my cab on Stage so that I can feed the monitors and main . . . . . Anyone runing their combo cab with a extension speaker? How does it sound? My extension cab has a pair of 25 or 30 year old G1265's in it. Could be interesting with the darker sounding speaker. Todd

So far I have only tried the extension cab in the music room so I have no useful real-world data for you, but I think you are on the right track.
I like the idea of the extension cab being darker. Seems to me it will give the soundguys more of what they think they want while allowing you to dial up what you need to function on stage. Go for it!
