In my last band I played only my RT66, kinda a Black Crowes style band. My latest band I have played my Maz 18 NR with a Celestion Blue for the past 5 years only. Well the other day at rehearsal I decided to plug into the RT66.... Im am not allowed to use the Maz any more, the guys absolutely love the tone of the 66... Thought all you 66 lovers would enjoy that.

Just swapped my Maz 18 for a route and I could not be happier. Seriously killer amp.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Maz, it's a phenomenal amp....... There is just something about the 66, and the way you can "play" the amp.

There is just something about the 66, and the way you can "play" the amp. I never had the honor of trying a Maz 18. No place near enough carries 'em. All my Z purchases were sight unseen and unheard. I was shocked at how much cleaner my Route was compared to the Maz 38 I traded it for. Took me quite awhile to get used to it. There is just something sweet about the Route. Loved my Maz. The Route was just different.

Howdy, Enjoyed your post. My only Dr.Z is the wonderful Carmen Ghia, but I've a hankering for the brawny tones of a Route 66. I'd love to try "Jumpin Jack Flash" through a '66 and a pair of AlniCo 12s..in open G, of course
