Hello, newbie here. I've been lurking for a while and have decided the Maz 8 will be perfect for my needs and wants. I really can't decide on wether to get the studio combo or head and run it through a 2/12 cab. I play out in my band often with a low stage volume everything from classic rock to new country. I'm scared I will sacrifice the fatness from a 2/12 cab if I get the combo. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

depends on what you need. The combo is obviously great for grab and go situations, or if you just sit in your room with it, but the head allows you to use your cab. I'd just get the head if I were you.

Yes I'm leaning to getting just the head. Wonder how it will sound through my Mesa 2/12 cab.

I have the studio combo and love it for what I use it for, which is a small grab go that doesn't take up much space.

I like the Studio combo myself. Its lightweight, its one piece and it sounds great. I like the sound of the open back as well because it helps fill the room up better in my opion. Besides, you can always run it with an extension cab. I heard that someone around here makes a pretty nice Y cable for the Z amps Todd

Well I have my Mesa 50 single rec and cab on consignment. If it sells I will order a red studio cab.

I have a M8 Head. I run it thru a Z Best 2x12. I switch between My Rt66 and the Maz8 into Zbest. My band gets pretty loud at times and the maz hangs right in with the 2x12. I totally can understand a nice grab and go combo. Its a personal needs/preference thing I believe. Either way, you're gonna love it! Happy Hunting>>>
