Its been a Long time coming, I wanted one when they came out but I was leaning towards a 66....Then Thanks to my Best Friend I was able to get a Smoking Hot Red Remedy at a Great price , Another wishlist Z! So, I have the Marshall tone covered, so , I hope it's as good as everyone who tells me it's AWESOME Especially when Different speakers can Be used. Yeah Most likely the GOLD is what I'm thinkin. I got a Brand new matched set of 6L6's in the cabinet. they were for the Super but, . I will probably get the Mod done in the next month or so. I want to be able to compare Honestly. Dwight I know you are a Man of Z's so if you think its Amazing it has to be with all the amps you have. I'll keep everyone posted, It shipped today so Fingers crossed Maybe Mon ;D

Very cool Jamie. Congratulations on another fine Z score. For speakers as you know everyone has their own preferences. With the Galaxie I've used a gold in a 1x12 combo, 2x10 combo (excellent tones and loud!), Dr Z 4x10 is my fav but it's too much cab for me to haul, G12-65, Weber 50 Watt ceramic Silver Bell, Weber 50 watt alnico Blue Dog, Weber 50 watt ceramic blue dog. Of course the 4x10 took tops but it's the haul thing. I'm a huge bule dog alnico fan but was not a pairing I liked, nor was the gold. The G12-65 or Dr Z 10s were my favorite with the Galaxie. YMMV. I will have add, of all the amps and speakers at Tony's studio the Galaxie running through a 2x12 open back cab loaded with greenbacks was KILLER!!!! My fav rig at T-Rocks.

The Galaxie Came today!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D!!! It is like a Brand new amp not a scratch nor nick on it. The Tubes Are GT But I have a Sweet Matched Pair of Winged C and some RCA Blackplate 7025 . I have to say CHannel #1 Is everything I was hoping for It sounds Like My Super on 11 ;D I hooked my Voodoo Strat up first loaded with Lollar Blackface Pup's WOW! Very Strat like, very transpearant. It only got better cause it was in the lower wattage mode? Pentode? or whatever it's called . I hit the footswitch, TROCK, I understand now. I can manage until I can get the Mod Done. CH#2 is Killer It gives the Remedy/SRZ a Good Run for the money. It Nails those Classic Fendery Tones and then some. I played the LP, SG through it and I was only smiling more. All tests were done with 1x12 Zcab loaded with a Gold It was AMAZING! Why Didnt anyone tell me how good this amp was, I would have got this model a while ago. I do have 1 complaint.... Is the speaker out? outs just 8 only or when the extension is used does it go 4 Ohms? It doesnt have the 4-8-16 Taps?? Why is that? I think it will be Sweeter with the Tube Change , Is The (ma) on the Bias around 32-38ma??? I love this Amp!!!!! I'm thinking a 2x10 cab would be Killer , but I have plenty 12' options, I would like to try a Silver Alnico Weber ;D Thanks for everyone helping me and giving me 411 on the amp You guys are the Best!

Yeah.....it's a paralell out.....Use a PCNS "Y" cord, = 4 Ohms.
Weber has a "magic" box(impedence matcher) that will hook U uP to ANYthing.
NO worries about inpedence mis-match. That transformer is freekin' STOUT, bro. Gary Hooker(Brad's side man) is well known for playing the Galaxie into a 4 Ohm cab on tour, w/out ANY probs.
I occasionally use the extension out, to power another 8 Ohm cab as well. GO 4 it!!
As for telling U how "BAD" this amp is.......I been SKREEMIN" it for 4 years.
BTW.....NOS 6L6WGBs, are the way to go.....fwiw

I''ll be on my way to Rock-n-Rollin with this bad boy, Just think coupled with the Remedy in Stereo One of my favorite stereo pairings is the Galaxie and SRZ. Those 6L6s and EL34s together in stereo take up a lot of musical space...

The Galaxie with a Z 4x10 is a wonderful pairing After reading your post above I hooked up my Galaxie with Headbone to my Z-28 4x10 combo - and for a little extra umph I threw my Z-verb into the mix. Holy cow - it just came to life! . Channel 2 with just a bit of verb gets into the same territory as my '66 Super Reverb in overdrive!! I just love it! And as a by product I also have the Z28 through the Z-verb. The 3-3-3 setting needs the bass dialed down to 9 but it also comes alive! Thanks!

Drew, That cab actually had Blue/Silver 50 watt AlNiCos... Sux gittin' old, don't it? ;D Yes it is Bro , yes it is. :-) And alnicos too??? Not a pairing I preferred with my 1x12 but I stand by my ears.. your Galaxie and that speaker cab ruled the roost!

I have got to get me a Reverb pedal at least to mimic my 67' BF Super i know its very similar in tone even though the Gal is a tweed Super clone. The Doc did a killer job! Its gonna be used alot. I hope more people will pull their Galaxies out of the closet and use them .. there is nothing like the big over driven fender sound

Mine cost me $400 and it is in great shape! ;D

There are not multi-ohm taps because the power transformer is the same spec as the Triad used on the original Tweed Super. The single output jack is spec'd at 8 Ohms. The extension cabinet output is like the Super was, wired in parallel. If you want to drive two cabinets, you do not need a Y cable, just use both output jacks and yes, that makes it 4 Ohms.
