I think my GT may need a trip to Maple Heights soon! I noticed someone had one with MV knob on the front of the amp - just in case it takes a trip to Cleveland.

So does anyone here have one with the MV and gain mods? If so please report on how the mods work. I owned one several years ago and like most I could only us it in a limited capacity but when I did it was indeed pure sonic bliss! My favorite Z-amp for sure! If I knew the mods made this beast usable but still kept that incredible tone I might be a return owner! I'm not much of a pedal guy so having the usable goods at my finger tips along with the volume control on my PRS would sure be sweet! Hope to hear from someone!

So does anyone here have one with the MV and gain mods? If so please report on how the mods work. I have the MV mod (not the gain mod) - it works great. You still have to like a lot of grit in you amp because it will never be Stangray clean even in its wildest dreams. There is plenty of sustain in this amp and a tone of harmonics come through. Sounds great through either single coils or humbuckers. Definitely makes the amp useable at home. I have it paired up with a 1x12 Gold and it really sings when pushed!

Thanks for the feedback Jag. I remember well , and loved, how fast the gain came through the pipes! Did you buy the GT with the mod or send it in to be done? If you sent it in why did you elect to not have the gain mod done as well? Thanks again.

I actually drove the amp in to get it fixed I elected only to get the MV mod because I wanted the amp to be as close to original as possible and thought that the MV mod didn't really change the tone of the amp - only the volume.

I had a GT for about 6 months a few years back. Played it through a Z Best... Evryone said I'd NEVER sounded better, but GAWD was it loud.
