Hi Guys I've got a 6545 but since it's discontinued, I don't think that forum gets read much.... Here's my question: mine is not near as loud as either my Remedy or my Maz Sr- both of which are lower wattage amps?! I'm wondering if something is wrong with it- and how to find out. Yesterday it made a screeching noise and then blew the fuse...past experience told me good chance it was a bad rectifier tube. So I replaced that and put new power tubes in...and it works-fuse didn't blow...but it doesn't seem to have the power that it used to have. Shouldn't this amp be very loud on the KT45 side--and really scream on the SRZ 65 side?? Any thoughts?? Thanks, Dickie

Yep, it should be pretty loud. I'm not so sure that it should be louder than the 38 or the Remedy, but it should be pretty close. If it is less loud than it was before the fuse blow and rectifier change, you might want to give the Z shop a call. They may want to have a look to make sure everything's OK in there. If the fuse was a slo-blow, something inside may have sustained some damage prior to the fuse going.
Good luck...

Sounds like you may need a new tube set and also could be having a rectifier tube going bad:)) if im not mistaking? The 45 has a EF-86?? PREAMP tubes seldom go bad but i had the EF go out on my Stangray. I would get it to a qualified tech. That amp.should blow your head off on the 65 side and like rich said either channel it should RIP!!! KEEP US POSTED ON WHAT YOU FIND ;D

Thanks, Dickie I've got a 6545 and it is loud on both sides, especially the 65 side, through a Z 4x10. Did you ever get the bias straightened out? I recall we discussed that over in the 6545 area. Incorrect bias likely would affect volume.
