So I have a chance to get a rxes, stangray, or an ezg50. Different amps I know. I need a head to tour with. The rxes has the MV. Which way should I go. I loved Don mantaray. I am going to try out the rxes soon and the guy I tour for likes twins so that's where the ezg comes in. I prefer the other two over the ezg. They are all in the same price range. Help please!

who's paying for the amps? The dude you're touring with or you? (I promise I'm not trying to sound like a smart***) if it's coming out of our pocket, I'd go with what you like. (and btw... if it's an RXes i would go with it anyways. ) BUT!!! If it's his bill, get what he wants. I like the RX amps a lot. i know each Z has it's own voice and niche, but in all honesty... you aren't going to get much past cleans and light breakup out of the Ray' without pedals. EZG is gonna be more of what he likes. but i still think that the RX line has proved to be the most versatile Z models IMO. Great cleans with plenty of headroom, and also a great gain circuit. and EVRYTHING in between. rhythm, lead, country, rock, blues, jazz, pop, re gay, single coil or humbucker. It's not an amp like the Wreck where single coils are the only thing that really shines. whatever you got this bad boy can handle. Great amps. Though... I've never played a RXES with the MV. I wonder if it can get just as quiet as the jr. version... that master volume, and fewer tubes to replace were the only reasons i bought into the jr. i wish doc could have just given the RXES a half power switch and the same MV in the First place though. But I'm no electrician and I'm sure he had his reasons. either way. I don't think you can go wrong with the RX.
