Wow, NICE Strat! So you didn't really say how it plays or sounds - I assume great, but how are you getting along with it?

Thanks benttop! It sounds excellent and plays like a dream. Phil Jacoby is one of the few luthiers in the world who has the PLEK machine and he made it play like a dream. Low action with no buzz. The stainless frets feel like silk when bending. The Buzz Feinten tuning system is wonderful also. Everywhere on the neck sounds in tune. This probably cost me $1200.00 total, but it plays and sounds as good as any Suhr, Grosh or anderson Strat I've tried. I specifically bought a light Swamp Ash body for resonating purposes. I think this one was about 3 pounds 13 ounces.
I love this one so much, I bought some Tele parts and should have that assembled tonight....then off to Jacoby.

Your guitar makes me want to build one of my own! Except I have all these pesky guitars around here - why would I want another?

Love the birdseye neck. Smart to name it after the wife . Yes indeed zdogma!!!! I told her about me planning on building one and naming it after her, so she ended up buying the body for my Christmas present. Now if I can only get Mike to build an amp called the "Debora" I'd be set for next Christmas! ;D

Looks great, Steve! Try and get a neck like that on a Fender...$$$$! I agree, VERY smart naming it after your wife. Had I been smart & wanting to avoid controversy, my newest Dr Z would have been called Michele'ray ;D

Very nice guitar!. Nothing like getting a custom guitar built to your exact specifications, that plays and sounds like a dream, for well under half the price of store bought version. And ......Makes Mama Happy ;D ;D
Well done!

LOL Thanks hdas143 & Tele62. Warmoth did the finish on the neck & body and they did an excellent job. The body is no "Suhr" finish, but its better than what I've been seeing on the new US Strats these days. There is some real gratification playing a guitar that I put together to my own specs. I finally have a guitar that I am not thinking "If it only had this it would be perfect". It's great being able to select every detail down to nut material & fret size/material. Thanks for all the encouragement & positive comments guys!!!!
