I made a great trade tonight. I have an RSS feed reader running here, and I get a feed from the Seattle Craigslist Musical Instruments listings, so I see them all. Very cool way to monitor something like that, by the way. Anyhow, I saw an ad there today offering up a PRS Singlecut 10-top in amber. The guy was looking for a Taylor high end guitar. I happen to have purchased a 20'th anniversary grand auditorium twelve years ago, and it is in mint condition - not a mark. So I connected up with this guy, and sure enough, both guitars are very similar in value (did some research first) and condition. So we traded. I haven't played that Taylor for about six years - all I ever do is add water to the humidifier! But that singlecut - oh baby! That's gonna get some playing real soon here! I haven't had a chance to even take a picture of it yet, and I'm heading out of town for the day first thing in the morning or I would be shooting some images of this beaut! I may haul it along so it appears in our DVD...

That's a fair trade. The taylor is a nice guitar as well. I think the singlecut is going to increase in value a bit more over time, though.

Yes a cool trade, There was a few thing about my single cut I could not get past so I sold mine
1. The PRS #7 pups I did NOT like 2. The control lay out differs from a Lester and confused my simple brain when playing a gig as I have played Lesters since '76 or so
Minute, piddly issues but could not see modding a valuable, and at the time no longer produced guitar.

I've been playing single volume control guitars for so long, having one with dual controls might make me crazy, but we shall see. This is my second PRS. My other is a 24 fret bolt neck that I use for slide, and I immediately planned to change out the pickups. But the first time I played it live, I had three guitar players corner me afterward to tell me how great that guitar sounded. And that continues to happen. So I figure, if everyone else likes its sound, who am I to argue? Hopefully the singlecut will blow my dress up in a big way... ;D

OK, here's that Singlecut I traded for: I played it on two songs last night during our PBS taping. Holy COW! This thing rocks! This is everything I wanted my Les Paul to be, and more. Not as heavy, and more tone. Sustain for days too. I'm going to be enjoying this one....

What a beauty Steve. ;D I would say you came out on top in this deal. Well I agree, simply because I will play this, and the other one wasn't getting my attention at all. I have another acoustic here that I play when I get that inspiration, so this Singlecut is a much better item for me. But now I have three "main" guitars vying for my attention - jeez, never been with that problem before...

Life must be pretty tough when you got three gorgeous 'gals' vying for your attention.

Sounds like it's time to make a new sound clip! Not till after this weekend... Then I'll be able to haul the Mazerati down to the studio and do some real testing. I definitely plan to put the Singlecut through there to see what happens - when I plugged it into the Flexi last night, that amp about came off the floor! Lots more output from the PRS than from my Grosh Strat! If the Mazerati likes that even half as much as the Flexi did, I'll be happy, but from what I've been able to determine here, the Mazerati just may set the house on fire with that PRS!

Gorgeous! I never cared for the styling of the PRS double cuts, but that single is a beauty. Doesn't help with my G.A.S. though. ;D
