Yeah, any hum should fit... I have WCR (crcoils.com) Goodwoods in my PRS, and that pickup set is PERFECT for a PRS. Sound great as humbuckers, and they coil split SUPREMELY to anything else out there because of how THICK-toned they are.
ANYTHING but bright... VERY smooth, very FAT, articulate, and clean up great. They're pricey, but definitely worth it as you'll never be tempted by other pickups again.

I have a McCarty and the stock pickups sound great. You might want to give them a try.

Hi Dave, I had one of the first McCarty's and I loved his pickups and the sound of those guitars. Unfortunately it was stolen when I was going to music college and I have not found another PRS that I have liked since. I heard that Fralin makes humbuckers to fit the PRS and they sound really good. I also can't say enough about Jason Lollar and his pickups. Saul Koll is just finishing a guitar for me that will have Jason's Imperial humbuckers in them. I will let you know how they work out. I have been impressed with everything else he has done so far. I have also really liked the Duncan Antiquity humbucker. They sounded great and can give you more of that vintage vibe.

Let me know what they sound like ., Ive got a good mind to try some Burstbuckers #1 & 2 these as in my Historic R-8 and they are perfect in that guitar

I had a 2000 model McCarty and it was a wonderful guitar, I stupidly traded it for a 2001 RPS Gold Top single cut with PRS #7 pups, YUCK. Never found another McCarty as good either, "but that's alright I still have my Tele(s)..."

Lollar's humbuckers are excellent, but his stock wind might be a bit bright for you. There's a guy up here in Canada named Jon Moore who custom winds to spec for 150 PAIR USD for really nice humbuckers. He'll use any magnet or wind you like and can make them as mellow as you want. Potted/unpotted/covers whatever. www.tonefordays.com/index.htmlHe has lots of positive reviews on harmony central and the LP forum. At that price its hard to go wrong.

My PRS is a custom made in 1990. It came with his standard pups which were really bright. I put dragon 1s in it eventually which are great, but before that I bought a Tom Anderson hum for the neck. It wouldn't fit - too deep. The neck joint slides under that pickup. So, just a caution; not all pickups will fit.
