Ordered a Martin Vintage series a few weeks back ,I wanted the 28 with the new Fishman Eclipse pickup and I was called that it came in and I went down to see it and on the left shoulder on the top there was a 4 " long worm mark from the bore that was as wide as my finger in the shape of a smile. I don't know about you ,but a 4.000 dollar guitar should have a AAA top so I sent it back ........... what the hell is going on? I just played the one that came in without the pickup and the top was stellar, it was almost like QC had a bad hangover and said F ..it , somebody will buy it.............not me dm

I don't blame you at all. Sounds like Martin is relying on their name to sell guitars. Thats too bad.
Have you ever tried a Breedlove? I've got a 1996 C2 mahogany with sitka spruce top that I wouldnt sell if I was starving. It is a magical sounding instrument that just gets better with age.

I havent tried the Breedlove ,I hear they are nice , I was going with the D-28 V E because of the new Fishman Eclipse Pickup and the last few I played were damn nice. I just know your buying mostly a top when you get a great guitar so you better be picky
