Just added a lopo 1x12 closed back cabinet with an Eminence The Governor to go with my lopo 1x15 open back cabinet with an Eminence Legend 151. Both cabinets are 8 ohms and are connected with a series speaker cable going into the 16 ohm jack on the 66. Still have to break in the speaker and Eminence's take a while to break in but the initial sound is amazing.

The house now shakes! When I was younger my dad would always tell me to turn it down. Now my kids tell my to turn it down! The 1x12 really projects a lot of sound, so much so I thought the 1x15 was not working. I double checked that cable and it was fine. I then plugged each cabinet in by it self and realized how much each cabinet contributes to the big sound I was getting with them together.

I love how your kids are telling you to turn it down. My son does the same.

Hey - just curious why you went with one open back cab and one closed back cab ... nice setup though.
Thanks, Freddieg

I got the 1x15 first and thought an open back would help to reduce the low end and give it a more airy sound. Carr and Victoria use this 1x 15 in some of their open back combos which I heard a liked the tone. The open back still delivers a lot of low end and is actually very bright. I wanted to blend in a little more of a British sound/mids and decided to go closed back. Basically I threw a rock and hit the side of the barn. The closed back can easily be converted to an open back, which I might try next. Dam that was long winded!

I like the throw the rock methodology. That works for me.
Got a big ben for Xmas - don't have a Rt66 or any z amps yet but that is on the to do list for 2012.
Nice Rig!
