I have had my EZG 50 & 4X10 cabinet for a year now and still am learning about the pre & post controls.
What is your best clean setting?
So far, the cleanest I can dial in with my Strat is pre 9 o'clock, post 3 o'clock, treble 12, mid 12, bass 8 o'clock.

Well, thats probably about as clean as you will get it before it starts to have a little hair on the notes. My experience is that the EZG will start to break up a little as you get close to noon on the pre volume. That amp is all about the balance of the pre and post in my opinion.

Don't forget to roll down your guitar volume as well! Helps get it cleaner with a little more volume from amp.

Yeah, that is part of the problem. If I goose it a little bit on the front end with a compressor it breaks up a bit. Might have to run the pre down a knotch more.
Even when it breaks up a tick the harmonics are so smooth and sweet it is unbelievable. I have never heard such a profound difference in pickup settings. Certainly all 5 positions on a strat are very differrent anyway, but this is sick.

don´t desregard, backing the post and pumping up pre a bit. I think there isn´t much gain coming from preamp only, in this amp. i might run pre at noon, and post at noon, and have less breakup than pre at 9 and post almost dimed. You can confirm that there´s not much pre gain by cranking pre and really backing post. You won´t have much overdrive going on. I really like to play with both, and would change settings if using pedals or not.

try pre 11 and post at 1 (o´clock settings) it might be the ticket vs 9 and 3 o´clock
