I have NOS tubes otw for the EZG-50 and Route 66. I can't imagine a big improvement though. The EZG already sounds incredible. I splurged and bought these power tubes for it.
NOS Sylvania 6L6GC STR415 (Matched Pair/Quartet)
They were expensive, but supposed to be some of the best remaining.
prspastor, what PRS's do you own? I have a SC 245 and a 25th anniversary Mira. The Mira is different than the standard one. It has P-90's and a 24 1/2" scale. I love both these guitars. The Mira sounds particularly sweet through the EZG.

I have the Tesla EF806 waiting for when my Route 66 arrives. I buy most of my tubes from Mike. He is very helpful and his advice has always worked for me. A 12AX7 I buy from him that I really like is the RFT. It is described as a little darker tube, but I honestly haven't found this to be so in the amps I've used them in. I feel like I get plenty of sparkle and articulation with this tube.
I guess we all hear things differently. For the 12AT7 positions on my EZG-50, I really like the NOS Mullard CV4024. I totally splurged this time on power tubes for the EZG. I purchased a pair of the NOS Sylvania 6L6GC STR415's. I believe I'm right about this but not positive, but these are the same tubes used in the original Mesa Mark I. They even have the Mesa logos printed on them. They will be here next week and I can compare them to the tubes that are currently in.
I have tried many tubes and this is something I've found, so take it for what it is, just my opinion. I'm not a tube expert by any means, but I do know what sounds best to my ear.
The NOS RCA's are hailed as the best of the best (certain tubes that is) by many. I didn't like the preamp NOS RCA tubes in my Mesa's (Lonestar & Electradyne) as much as others. To me, these amps are darker than say, Fender's and Marshall's. So imo, the warmth of these tubes don't really bring out the best tone in those Boogie's. They sounded more dull and muddy in those particular amps imo.
I wasn't trying NOS tubes when I owned my Fender's and Marshall's, but I would be willing to bet that the RCA preamp tubes would sound very good in them.
