Just an FYI to all you SRZ fans. There is a SRZ65 long-box, black with the large block Z on the front (#11 or #13?). I believe this is the same guy who had it listed for $5000 earlier this year. Be careful, I feel he is a little unstable as he unleashed a verbal tirade on someone for commenting that his price was over the top. It was pretty bad so just proceed with caution. Nevertheless, you can probably snag it for $2000 and it is pretty sweet looking and I'll bet freaken rocks!

I think I know the one. The guy is a bit unstable. That's probably the understatement of the year but yeah. He threatened my life when I suggested he might not get too many buyers at the price he had it at. I probably should have kept my mouth shut but I was just trying to help the guy out. My return email to him thanked him for his mature response and wished him luck.
Of course the amp didn't sell. He's dropped the price several times trying to get a bite. I hope someone gets a smoking deal off 'em.

Hi Mike, thanks for the vine, in looking at your profile it looks like you have the whole Z catalog! Quite addictive those Z amps!Which one gets the most play? I travel Ann Arbor way fairly often doing service work, it would be cool to get together with a Z Man. Go Blue Steve

Go Blue Steve I don't have the whole catalog but I'm working on it I try to keep rotating through my amps - last night it was the Monza with volume maxxed to get the kinda fuzz that Todd was getting with his MV mod - though without the mod it was a bit louder! The night before it was the EZG 50. If you're thinking about getting another Z stop by for a chance to really hear and play them side by side ;D Just let me know when you're coming through next time and I'll try to arrange something!

It may not sell, even at a more reasonable $1800. That's just the situation we are in right now. People are out of work or getting their hours cut from full time to part time. More and more people I know are worrying about paying bills and putting food on the table, when maybe a year ago they were getting new toys. I would say if he can't get what he wants for it, he should hang on another 6 months. That is, if he can afford to wait. If the economy starts to turn and people get back to work, then there may be a better market.

I think $1800 for that early beast is quite fair but he may have problems moving it becasue many remember the absolute off-the-deep-end comments he made when being questioned about the once $5000 price tag he was asking. A few years ago I offered him a trade for my Cornford MK50 head and he told me that would be like trading a Boeing 747 for a skate board! REALLY? Today, solid asking price but proceed with caution. If people only knew the endless tonal bliss that comes from such a beast of an amp. Price is Very Fair in this market. I remember the first go around. I hope this fella doesnt work with the public, He may need Meds ;D

this is not a fair price in this economy - if it were would have already sold. Still over-priced for this economy.

The economy will dictate whether or not it's a fair price. I don't think the long boxes really have much collector value, yet. If I was going to spend $1800 on a SRZ, it would be on a new one. Even the LEs are having a tough time getting just $1,200 - $1,500. You can ask anything you want for anything you sell. It just depends on how quickly you want to sell it. He's been trying to sell this for a while, and he doesn't have the best "people skills."

Jamie - don't get me wrong - they are great amps! It's just that in this economy nothing is selling for a fair price much less a premium. If the guy is interested in selling, which he appears to because it's been listed for so long, he's got to be willing to list it for present economic condition price ( which I believe is somewhere between $1,200 - $1,500. If I had onenit wouldn't be for sale either. ;D

Doc made a limited edition SRZ OF 35 units after the SRZ was initially cancelled. Because of the demand the SRZ was brought back as regular production amp. The LE was only available in one color red face with black cab.

After looking for one for almost a year, I gave a little over the $1800 dollar mark for #3 about 6 months ago. I was super stoked shelling out that cash and paid another $1800 a week later for a AFD100 to the same fellow. We all should know that pricing is all about supply and demand. 10 years ago we all would of said we would be walking if gas got to $4.00 a gallon but I doubt very few of us have even made the slightest change in our livelihood. With that being said I don't think we have the right to comment about the asking price of anything. If you want to offer a lower price then do so, if not, don't . All in all If the seller and buyer are happy then its good deal and we don't have the right to judge. I have debated purchasing this one and tracking down the man that was selling the LE a couple of months back. If I would have (decide to) shelled out the cash for all 3 of them, everyone who owns one would be using that as the mark for selling theirs and calling it fair market value, even though I may never purchase another one. You never know what something is going to bring. The next item that you sell could be something that I or someone like me cant live without, and trust me if it tickles my fancy you may be saying "wow I cant believe I just got that out of that thing" I know everyone is thinking I am crazy at the moment but I like to collect, and having a stack of these things may pay big dividends some day. If not I will never regret a purchase that I made willingly. The best way to sum it up is simply like this.......What I paid for an item never comes to mind when I turn on any amp or pick up any guitar that I own. I don't have a second to think about that, the ear to ear grin is overwhelming and that IS ALL THAT MATTERS. ;D ;D

Yea, it was an original long box. I'd have purchased it but I already have SRZ65 and a 6545 - couldn't justify getting another one. Things are tough out there!

Congrats on getting that vintage beast dmann!I agree with your comments about not being sorry about what you paid once you fire up that SRZ65. Getting an SRZ65 for under 800 is an anomaly for sure! Don't let buzz killers steal your joy! besides I hope if I ever sell my combo your in the market for one then as well.
