That's what I was thinking of doing, but I didn't know if it was ok to run a 16 ohm & 8 ohm in prallel. Thanks for letting me know. Anyway, just had a chance to try it with the one ten and I was well pleased. I'miking the gold celestion and the one ten with Sennheiser e906s.

I've been so happy with my Wreck running through the stock, matching cabinet that the need to experiment didn't really kick in until a couple of days ago.
But, lately I've really been digging Jim's Scumnico 12". This coming week I'm planning on trying the 65 watt version in place of the stock Celestion Gold.
From the first time I plugged into the full Z Wreck rig I've felt the head and cab were perfectly matched and have continued to be so pleased with this amp that it's become one of my top two 'go-to' amps, but I've not been a huge fan of the Gold in other applications.....especially when used by itself.....so this might be an interesting experiment.
Can it possibly be better than stock.....?......Will report back.......

^^^ Thanks for joining in this thread, Stu. Your impressions will be very useful. OK, so what's your other go-to amp?

^^^ Thanks for joining in this thread, Stu. Your impressions will be very useful. OK, so what's your other go-to amp? I've got a list of 5 amps that are my 'must have' pieces and I can't really rule out my old MAZ 18.......which is like an extra appendage at this point, but if I had to choose just two rigs they'd be the Z Wreck with matching cab and my Germino Fillmore with Scumback loaded Germino 412.....straight cab with the stupid expensive $400.00 pinstripe grille cloth. Holy Mother of Loud, but so Rock-n-Roll!! I'm amused when folks talk about a Z Wreck being too loud! ;-)

OK....I'm like Stu, the Z Wreck cab sounds so good I haven't needed to try the amp through another speaker. But this thread got me wanting to try it through my Music Man RH 212 w/ EVM 12L's....(my exclusive speaker of choice until a few years ago when I realized I was not quite as young and those suckers are HEAVY!!) I had a go at it yesterday and as expected, the EV's were tighter and cleaner. But, I did notice the Z Wreck has more breakup than I thought. I was thinking a lot of the breakup was in the speakers. The ONLY thing I don't like about the 'Wreck cab is with the tone control on my Les Paul on 0 on the neck pickup...a tone I like to use at times...the Blue starts to loose it. Fizzle. It just can't handle that thick of a tone. The EV's on the other hand handled it with ease. Expected from two 200 watt speakers. Other than that, I do like the 'Wreck cab better...More highs ( unexpected ), and warmer. And almost seems LOUDER than the EV's. ( another unexpected ) Unlike Stu, I've always liked the Gold and would love to swap the Blue for a Gold one day. That said, the Doc has made a wonderful, well thought cab to go with this special amplifier. Thanks Dr Z!
