Hi Guys!
I been playing through my Maz 18 NR for about a year and a half with a pair of 1x12 JTM cabs with English Heritage speakers. I have always want a Fenderish clean tone such the one the EZG delivers though. My next goal would be to have an Stereo rig in which I can use my Ventilator (leslie sim) and hopefully a Timeline delay and Space reverb... all of them in a Stereo rig. So now it comes to my mind how would the Maz and the EZG sound at the same time.
I know there is a lot of difference in headroom and tone between them... but for me buying a secondary Maz just to have the stereo rig is kind a fool move when I can buy a amp with a different tones (versatiltiy for studio work is a must).
HAve you tried the both of this at the same time? VEry important = Which speakers? I'm also planning on buying an Avatar 2x12with Blues cab... I tested it with my Maz and sounded awesome, for studio use is more versatile than the Heritage's. If you would have the previous mentioned speaker selection, which ones would you use for the MAz and which ones for the EZG-50.... hahaha lots of questions. Thanks guys! ;D

The EZG and the Maz would make a nice stereo rig. If you are getting enough clean headroom out of the Maz now I don't think you will have any trouble matching them for volume. The EZG has nice clean tones all over the volume controls. I would set the maz then set the ezg to complement it. I've run the EZG with a maz 18 before. I used the maz for dirtier tones and switched to the EZG for clean tones. I'm sure you will have good luck in stereo also.
As far as which speakers for each amp... I'd run the blues with the Maz and the ceramics that you already own with the EZG.

My whole problem with stereo rigs is unless you are standing right between the two of them, the balance is screwed up anyway...at least from the audience's perspective. Seems like a lot of hauling and set up work for little return.

I've been using my Maz Jr with an EZG for about 6 months now. I love it. I have a Remedy in the mix as well making a 3 amp set-up.
I was using a Z28 and although I LOVE the amp and will never part with it, there was not enough clean for me at higher volume and it is a 6V6 amp like the Remedy.
I then tried my 6L6 based 2 X 10'' circa 1970 Fender Vibrolux and although a little better in terms of tonal differentiation, was not clean enough at higher volume.
Enter the EZG and viola! Tonal Nirvana for me. I tried the EZG with (2) of the Doc's 10's in an open back J Design cabinet and it sounds great, (real punchy and responsive) but for he Classic Rock and Blues stuff we do I prefer my 1x12 open cabinet with a Celestion G12-65.
For me the G12-65 gives a tad more hair and a bigger sound.
My Maz set-up: Maz Jr Combo w/G12H30 and 1X12 Celestion Blue Expansion Cabinet (both open back).......it is IT for me.
The Remedy goes through a 2x12 Marshall closed back cabinet loaded with Greenbacks.
For me it's really not about the "stereo effect" of multiple amps (although with proper amp mic-ing through a PA could be achieved): it's the full, wide sound spectrum you get with amps of different tonal characteristics.
Combination's of EL84, 6L6 and 6V6 base amps, some clean others dirty, different effects on each, a little delay on one, etc. really fill a lot of tonal space the gives a big sound that can sound like multiple guitars are playing.
A lot of work to lug around but worth the effort for me.
Highly recommended....

As to the comment about the stereo rig being a lot of work for minimal return, I hear ya. I abandoned the idea of a wide stereo image for a dual amp rig where I am able to blend two quite different sounding amps for optimal tonal versatility and complexity.
I have ended up with an EZG-50 head on a 1x12 Z cab and a Germino Classic 45 on a Germino 2x12 cab. Volume matching is not too difficult and the two amps work so well together. Each fills in the sonic holes that the other is lacking (i.e. the EZG is a bit bassy and and super clean and the Germino is (set) bright and slightly crunchy). I can still route stereo effects (Eventide Timefactor and Pigtronix Tremvelope) to the amps, but it is the combination of sounds NOT THE CONCEPT OF STEREO IMAGING that I am really aiming for.
That said, if you really want to let the audience hear your rig in stereo, put the EZG on your side of the stage and the MAZ all the way on the other. You can't mistake that stereo image with some stereo delay/chorus/trem!
Oh yeah, the MAZ 18 should blend perfect with the EZG, especially if you are keeping the EZG clean. Lesser known fact though- the EZG has amazing crunchy tones! Not Marshall or Vox, but reminds me of a Bassman or Tremolux cranked up with much better low end and supreme dynamics. Attenuator may be necessary

So a dual amp rig as opposed to a "stereo" set up. ..makes sense. Nothing wrong with either...wonder what the band and sound guy would think if I brought both rigs next gig! Could be a youtube moment!!
