Hello all, I am new here. I love my Dr. Z amps, but at times I need them to be quieter.
I was looking into the Brake Lite and it says it works up to 45W. I am interested in the EZG-50, but I know that it will be WAY too loud for my needs. Would I be required to get the Air Brake instead of the Brake Lite since it is 50W? Seems like a large investment for 5 extra Watts.
Also, what would happen if a Brake Lite were used on an amp larger than 45W?
Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't exceed the wattage that Dr. Z says it will take. He does a lot of testing before he releases a product and you can be sure there is a reason he has 45 watts listed as the max.
That isn't to say you couldn't get away with it - it would depend on a load of variables, not the least of which is how loud you play and how much of that volume you want the brake to suck up. It is conceivable that it would work, but if you run the EZG wide open into the Brake Lite you are probably going to see smoke eventually. It would get very hot, real quick, and burn up. Hope it's not sitting on your amp when that happens... YMMV.
