Used the Z-verb on top of the Z-Wreck at a gig last night. It ended up ringing when I wasn't playing one time later in the evening. My PA guy thought it was the PA & started playing with levels. I hit the footswitch on the Z-Verb and the ringing stopped. Kind of an internal, tube feedback. The Tone was set at noon, Mix at about 10 o'clock and Dwell at around 9 o'clock. Not sure what was happening. It wasn't like I had a full-on reverb cranked. I guess I need to experiment more with it. Any clues as to the tube-type feecback I was experiencing? I've never used a stand-alone tube reverb unit before, but I would think that unless I had some of the controls maxed-out, that I shouldn't be experiencing any problems with it. Thanks, MeZadude

Sounds like a micro phonic tube but try it with the Reverb unit not on top of the head. Maybe the vibration got to it. While it's squealing carefully touch the pre-amp tubes to see which one it is.

I played around with the Z-Verb again today, and was able to reproduce the ringing at low volumes. Not really a ringing, but a high-pitched feedback which slowly creeps in. Cranking the Mix knob to 'off' stops the feedback, as well as hitting the footswitch. Only have the Mix knob at around 9 o'clock to get that feedback going. After moving the Z-Verb away from & behind the Z-Wreck, the feedback seemed to stop. So, it seems to be sensitive to being close to an amp head. Too bad. It would be nice to have it sit on top of the amp head. It just looks right that way. Wonder if the doc knows about this? MeZa

Well, removing the Z-Verb from the amp stack does not stop the feedback. After a few minutes of playing, it starts creeping back in. I guess I need to contact Dr. Z. MeZa

MeZa contact repairs@drzamps.com enclose the symptoms and your address. I believe if a tube doesn't help we'll send you a new re verb tub. The spring tub's can be sensitive and will start to feedback like your describing.
