Recorded some songs with my band in a studio this weekend. Big acoustically tuned rooms, Pro Tools, Neumanns, Distressors...blah, blah, blah.
We were there mainly to get drum sounds with scratch bass and guitar. However, the EZG-50 through a 1x12 Z cab sounded so good that I may not have to re-record it! My playing is really the only concern and mostly that went fine.
So yes, the EZG isn't cheap, but the tone was so good that even though we were all focused on drum sounds, at the end of the day my guitar is done too! Saved money I guess, if you think extra studio time later.
If only a Bass DI sounded right on its own...then we would be there. Dr. Z should make one!!! Tube of course!!!
EZG. Does it again. One of my favorite recording amps!

How about some song samples to hear the sound of your EZG50?

kfkm- I can probably post something when everything is mixed and mastered. Might be a month or so. I don't want to put anything out there that isn't the best it could be. But thanks for asking and I will be sure to share when the songs are finished!

What kind of speaker did you have in your 1x12?

The standard high volume option in Z cabs- Celestion G12-H 65. It is much nicer sounding with time and use. It was a little stiff and harsh on the top end initially...much better after LOTS of use!!!

Sounds cool and I have heard good things in general about those. Right now I tend to use Countryman DI's or if I am lucky, every once in awhile, I get to use an Eclair Engineering Evil Twin tube DI.
Thanks for the suggestion!
