Everyone else probably already realized this but I just noticed that the hew Jr., at least the one on the Z website, has all tolex covering on the head whereas mine has the grill cloth covering part of the front. Do they all come with tolex now? When did they get rid of the grill cloth? On another note, does anyone know how to pinpoint the age of a Z amp? Thanks!

Hey thanks!
Mine is black tolex with salt & pepper grill cloth (same as my Carmen Ghia). Serial # starts with an S which makes it a 2008 build.

Grill cloth was never a standard on the Rx Jr. It was optional but from the sounds of things at z-fest this last summer is sounds like the grill cloth option will no longer be available and all models are being converted to tolex (If i understood that wrong, someone please let me know.)

I've owned two Maz Heads with cloth... They were black so I sold them when I bought the nicer sounding red ones! ;D This one is wheat. I think somebody on the forum got this one.

I think the cloth look rocks on all the DR Z amps. I like it much better than all tolex.
