This is my first time post and first Z product! I did a little research and found that the Air Brake was the most recommended in several reviews. I picked one up one up and I'm loving it!
I should give a little background to say that I record music in my apartment. I was using a THD Bivalve which I love. The problem is that i never liked the hotplate that is built in. Steve was saying in his tests that the hotplate imparts a slight fuzz to the sound. I like my cleans to be fender clean. The THD is what it is.
That said, I love the bluesbreaker sound I can get with the THD at lower volume. I was feeling the sadness though not being able to play my 65 bandmaster and 74 Twin reverb. I really like the AB. I can get very recordable cleans with either amp at apartment volumes.
When I got the AB home the first thing I did was plug in into the THD. Being familiar with the hotplate in the Bivlave I found this to be a good test. All the settings of the AB resulted in sounds closer to the original unattenuated sound, being to my ears and recordings, fuller and more balanced especially at higher attenuation settings.
I'm thinking about trading the THD up to a MAZ Jr. Has anyone had both to comment on the differences?

hm. Never had a BiValve, but I have owned two Flexi-50's - still have one - and the Maz Jr. NR. Totally different amps, but I don't know how close to a BiValve the Flexi might be.
The Maz Jr NR that I own doesn't get nearly to the same place as far as distortion is concerned, although you can get quite a lot of distortion if you crank everything up.

Judging by the video, you must be happy with it. Great sound!
