I'll let you know soon. Alf shipped out a batch to a distributor on Saturday, supposedly mine is included. If anyone is planning on a Zendrive my advice is order it directly from Alf, the leadtime is shorter.

Robben had 2 of 'em. One w/ 2 knobs, one w/ 4. First half of the tour, he was usin' the 2 knobber. 2nd half, the 4. Seems to me he just barely had it 'turned up', set for a clean-ish boost, and then only on SOME solos. The rest o' the time it was a Lester straight thru a blackfaced Super w/ ALL the controls on '5'. He let me in on a little inside info, seems a Mr. Dumble put the magic diddlestick to it pre-tour to tighten up the low end a little and emphasize more mids. Don't know about y'all, but any Super I ever had was ALL flabby lows and real piercing highs, w/o a lot of mids. Bluzsteel would know a little more about that than me, having been a Super Reverb Junkie for a lot of years before entering Z-dom. Also Anson Funderburgh AND Smokin' Joe Kubek, though it was usually a Twin w/ him.

I liked his tone purty good at the concert...but...I didn't know how much he used that pedal ...sounds like not a lot ;^) But I bought "Blue Moon" & " Handfull Of Blues" & dig the tone on them much better (much more "trebly" in concert)....I think he used some of them "Dumbles" on them records ;^)

I like his tone on "Cannonball Shuffle" and "Indianola"--well, on ALL of 'em. Just really great sounds. Prolly never get the chance to do that many gigs w/ him again, hope I learned somethin' (except for "when you realize you know NOTHING, you begin to know SOMETHING";^)

One night it was great, and the next it was bad! Very inconsistent. Seemed like it was different every night.

I bought an early c-BS ('66) blackie Super w/ no speakers once back when they were plentiful for 200 bucks. Put some Eminence 10's in there and used it off and on for YEARS 'til i finally traded it for a Marshall 4X12 basketweave. It was OK, I just never could pull any dang MIDS out of it. I'm sure that these days there's an amp guru/tech/good ol' boy that could 'make 'er sang' around somewhere...most likely in Maple Heights, Ohio...
