I'm looking for either a clean boost or an OD/ fuzz for use with my Ghia to cover the heavier stuff. I want to fatten and tighten the existing tone while adding a little more harmonic content, for more of a "modern vintage" sound, if that makes sense. I'm playing a LP Standard thru the Ghia into a closed back 2 X 12 with V30's.
I've tried the OCD with a Mazerati and didn't care for it, nor the Reverend Drivetrain II that I'm currently borrowing from a friend- too much mid hump
I'm considering the Duncan Pickup Booster, the Hellbilly, or even the Duncan Tweakfuzz. Any thought on using those, or even a tube based OD such as the Radial Hot British? Other suggestions?

HellBilly Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gives you both Fuzz or Rangemaster Treble Boost - and some great stuff in between!
And unklemslam and the bunch at ToneFactor are great to work with.
Hope this helps.

I guess it depends what "flavor" you want. If you want your initial amp tone, just dirtier, go with a clean boost. I use the comp cut on the fulldrive 2 to drive the amp a bit more or the fatboost. But if you want a germanium flavor, the Hellbilly rocks and you can get some subtle boosts and treble boosts inbetween too. I like to use it primarily for fuzz duties but it's pretty versitile. You can squeeze quite alot of gain out of it although personally I don't like it past 3 oclock but it's enough for me. You can get all the fuzz sounds from the past plus the guys using them today, EJ, White Stripes, Q of the SA etc. etc Too Cool.

I just picked up an emma reezafratzitz and it does a really nice distortion to fuzz sound that really reacts to how hard you hit it-nice harmonics. I highly recommend this pedal. It makes you play better.
