Well...I have never used any type of attenuator and never thought I needed one. Then I see all you guys around here swear by the AirBrake & BrakeLite. So...my Remedy has been known to hurt my ears a little bit. ..lol I was looking at the BST section the other day and saw one at a good price from "meanslide" I jumped on it, got it today and I'm sold! I hear all this talk about tone robbing and such...this unit seems to make this amp sound even better! And at a more user friendly volume!! ... All I can say is thanks to all you guys that highly recommend them... Steve...Mike... and thanks Robert (meanslide) for the sweet, smooth deal!

I've been using attenuators for literally decades - designed one of my own back in the 70's! (fyi, it sucked... ) Anyway the Z brakes are some of the best out there. In fact, I have three - two Airbrakes and a Brake Lite. They utterly rock!

Which do you prefer - Air Brake or Brake Lite?

Which do you prefer - Air Brake or Brake Lite? I can't really detect a difference tonally, but I have the Brake Lite mounted inside my Maz Jr NR Combo, so that's where it always gets used. You have to pay attention though - it is so transparent, I sometimes forget it's in there and start wondering why my amp is so quiet...

Mark,
Glad you're liking it. Ya know, it can make your amp sound better, sort of, since you can push the tubes harder / get into a sweet spot and keep the output level under control.
