highly recommended. ain't nun better for pulling in the reigns on your amps. i even use one with my little 5 watt Victoria so as not to bother the neighbors. keep in mind, however, that at the maximum bedroom setting your Maz will be loud (but controlled). go get one! cheers.

Benttop - Just wanted to say thanks for posting that evaluation. I'm about to order a Maz 18 NR head & a cab, and had been debating as to whether or not I wanted/needed an Air Brake. Listening to those clips sure made the decision a lot easier. +1 karma to you!

Hwyman - I played my Maz NR head with the airbrake (I ordered the airbrake together with the Mazerati GT). I was surprised with the Maz NR. Usually I set the Maz for a clean sound and use the AC (for crunchy rhythm) or BB Booster (for lead sound). With the airbrake I get a nicer crunch (cooking EL84´s) than with the AC. I turn the amp on (master full, volume about 3 o´clock) and use the airbrake for the right amount of loudness. You can play a clean and crunch sound just with the volume knob of the guitar. For more distortion maybe you need one pedal depending on the guitar you play. I think with humbucker guitars you don´t need anything. I play mostly Strats or a Tele. For a more gainier sound I use the Mazerati GT. I´m on the way to sell my pedals as I don´t need them anymore - thanks airbrake. Hope this helps, a merry christmas Maz guys, Willi.

I actually learned a great deal myself making those clips, so it was way worth it even if nobody else learned a thing. Fortunately they've been of some minimal use elsewhere.

Wilhelm - thanks for the info/review. I went ahead and ordered one with my amp. I play mostly Teles, and a range from clean to crunch is pretty much all I need.....I don't delve into the "high gain" realm very often.
