Hi, This is araiyu from Japan, I am new to the board.
Last Month I had a chance to play with my fiend's Mini-Z combo. I was so much impressed with the sound quality of this amp and started to save for Mini-Z. I have MESA/BOOGIE 2x12(Vintage30) closed back cabinet, which is good for small gig. I will try the cabinet with Mini-Z head.
What kind of cabinet do you use with Mini-Z head? and how's your impression?

Welcome to the forum araiyu! I have a combo but I have tried it with a couple cabs, I liked it with a 1x12 cab with a vintage 30 so I'll bet that 2x12 sounds pretty good... Hope you enjoy!

I had an Engl V30 1x12 closed back and the mini definitely did not gel well with it. I don't know how to explain it properly but maybe flabby/fuzzy ...not well defined. The G12H sounds much nicer to my ears. I also plugged it into a marshall 4x12 last week and it sounded sweet.

Hey araiyu! Welcome to Z-world...the Mini is a great amp. I've been using mine with two 8" Weber speakers. I have also used a single Celestion Greenback 12" which is good, but I do prefer the 8's. I'm thinking I'll try a 10" next and see how it sounds...check out the video demo of the Mini posted a few days ago...some great sounds from an Eminence Ramrod 10".

Hi, I have a mini-z head and several cabs; my favorite with the mini is the Mesa Recto 2x12 w/Vintage 30s - the oversized, closed back cab gives the mini a nice low end presence. The mini can sound a bit thin if it is not working fairly hard, but that's how it was designed - to be played pretty much wide open. Take Care!!
