I got one of these off the "bay" ,it arrived Saturday afternoon. So far it sounds pretty good , but maybe a little thin? Am I doing something wrong ? I'm running it with my Carmen Ghia through a 2X12 . Pretty cheap cords , could this be the problem ? Any help would be appreciated . Thanks in advance !

Yes get/use better cords.
I use 2.5 square-mm Supra oxygenfree copper-cable - 625-strands in each conductor. I also use Switccraft or Neutrik connectors.

Good cables do make a difference. But your ears also play a role in this. As volume goes down, you hear bass, and to a lesser extent treble less efficiently. This is known as the Fletcher-Munson loudness curves. So as midrange goes to half volume, bass may be going down to 2/5 volume or more. In addition, as volume decreases, your speaker works a bit less and any coloration it might have been providing at high volume disappears. If you're recording, most of this doesn't matter all that much - you'll hear things fine in the recording. But if you're just wanting to play quietly, pump up the bass with your tone control. If you're curious, you can read about the Fletcher-Munson loudness curves on wikipedia at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher-Munson_curves
